Ok bloody waste of time but cool anyway. And yeah Merry Christmas. Not like I celebrate it anyway. And not like you care.

my Twitter

Apparently someone got there before me.

randName was already taken.

I took _randName_

http://twitter.com/_randName_

Nagisa's Birthday

Let's all celebrate tomorrow! (24/12)

It's Furukawa Nagisa, not Nagisa Aoi (though they share the same VA).

It's one of the rare times character's birthdays are so clear. The only other one I can remember is the Hiiragi twins on 07/07.

Wtf this was so useless.

Again...

The RP (RolePlay, as in RPG that type of RP) going on at fantasia_gensokyo was keeping me busy for the past few days.

Go there if you haven't already done so lol: http://fantasiagensokyo.proboards.com

My character Bio:

Name: fixedName
Age: 15 (his organic portion)
Gender: Male
Species: Integrated Data Entity Interface

Stats: 60 hp 40 mp

Abilities:
Environmental Interaction (Environmental Data Processing) [Level 1]
Environmental Interaction (Data Manipulation) [Level 1]

Appearance:
Looks like a lively, charming young lad. Not too tall or short when he stands beside other people (since he can adjust his shoes slightly anyway), he sports brown hair of colour #663300 and a fringe of which has dye so he can change the colour anytime (luckily, he only adopts HTML web-safe colours). He dislikes putting anything into his eyes, so it is of a natural black/brown combo.

Personality:
Adaptive, Changing to fit crowd. He mingles around for a bit staying silent, taking in verbal and body language from everyone. Then he gets the average and outputs it. Therefore everyone would describe him differently, but most often as a "very likeable" person, and one who is easy to open your heart to (that's how he collects more data)

History:
Attached to a living organism by the Integrated Data Entity because of a need to use its huge amounts of data more effectively than simple SQL statements. There are many others like him all around, but they rarely need to meet as there is an active database for communication (like a message board). They age less quickly compared to humans, and for them "true" ageing is simply the fragmentation of Interface data. Without proper TLC and maintenance, the organic component of the Interface may suffer from wear and tear which will make the it appear to age as quickly as humans. When the life span of the cells in the organic component are nearing their end, the Interface can request for a renewal, and it will be attached to another organic being. The record for the longest life of the organic component was 143 years.

Given the bare minimum amounts of information needed to survive, fixedName lived alone for the first few years of his life. He then moved around and started roaming "through a sudden bout of boredom", and has helped the Entity gather substantial amounts of new data, like who all the bases belong to.

Such wanderlust would certainly lead to something big. Finding the Roundtable was certainly that. Finding it interesting, he stayed there for a while, observing conflicts that happen there frequently.

And then the follow up by a skilled RPer
Nagato Yuki type reality warping, huh. Well, what the heck.
At the first level, you can only transform small objects into other objects of similar ability/function. Low level non-contact alchemy, basically. Kitchen knives into daggers, wooden swords into metallic ones, tables into little baby cots, things like that.

Shoes thrown at Bush

Elaboration: When soon-to-be-Ex-President Bush was speaking at an un-announced trip to Iraq, an Iraqi journalist stood up and threw one of his shoes at Bush while calling him "dog" (doesn't Louise do that everytime anyway), and he managed to duck. The journalist threw his other shoe and this time the guy standing beside Bush helped to block the missile.

Lol. In Iraq that is "close to an ultimate insult" (CNN), as it implies that the person is lower than the dirty shoe. As Mr Brown puts it, "Yes, and in other cultures, throwing a shoe is a sign of respect, affection and love." And go see the pics he put up.

"It was a size 10".

Skin...

I hope this is a temporary solution while I search for a nicer one.

And if the blogroll looks smaller, its because I had to put them back one by one, so don't fret if you don't see yours yet.

Parchment looks so good...

That would probably be one of the most appropriate translations I've ever seen for netspeek.

lol = 乐 (le4 if your chinese really that cmi)

1) It sounds similar
2) It brings similar meaning (happy)
3) It's short and sweet

I nids one of this....

...Has passed. Details: http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2008/09dec_fullmoon.htm

I was lucky enough to wake up so early on a Saturday morning. The moon was uber-big, enhanced by the moon illusion itself. Then half an hour after sunrise (not the Gundam and C.G. one), I receive a feed from MAKE:Magazine pointing to the above link.

Sad I didn't take pics. I thought it would automatically happen every 十五 of the month but, no, it had to be a special one. Sian

And in other news, that guy who niao-ed the teacher apparently calmed down and reached an understanding. http://linuxlock.blogspot.com/2008/12/character-assasinations-aint-us.html

And I watched Clannad AS 11 from another fansub (feed from a.scarywater.net). But I will be getting the Eclipse one when it comes out...on Sunday

Lol

Oh my 天...

I have many things that I can say OMT for. This however, deserves the true OMT (at least here).

And this came through via slashdot, which was then from my feed reader, and after finding the source I come to this which gives me another yay feed to add.

One wonders if the OS wars were ever fought...

Snippets:

...observed one of my students with a group of other children gathered around his laptop. ... The student was showing the ability of the laptop and handing out Linux disks. After confiscating the disks I called a confrence with the student ... I am sure you strongly believe in what you are doing but I cannot either support your efforts or allow them to happen in my classroom. At this point, I am not sure what you are doing is legal. No software is free and spreading that misconception is harmful. These children look up to adults for guidance and discipline. I will research this as time allows and I want to assure you, if you are doing anything illegal, I will pursue charges as the law allows. Mr. Starks, I along with many others tried Linux during college and I assure you, the claims you make are grossly over-stated and hinge on falsehoods. I admire your attempts in getting computers in the hands of disadvantaged people but putting linux on these machines is holding our kids back.

This is a world where Windows runs on virtually every computer and putting on a carnival show for an operating system is not helping these children at all. I am sure if you contacted Microsoft, they would be more than happy to supply you with copies of an older verison of Windows and that way, your computers would actually be of service to those receiving them...

(Ok, maybe not snippets I got lazy after the first 2 cuts).

This brings to light how propaganda is so effective. It is not a question of how the teacher is stupid. She did try Linux before (though when it was highly primitive). However, being brainwashed by higher-ups led her to become one of the many drones that are running classes in US now. I think she would be the exception, actually finding a source to the "problem" and voicing out what her bleached brain was trained to output.

Then of course, "kind" rebuttals (I think of them as hidden niao). By the Helios guy himself:
The fact that you seem to believe that Microsoft is the end all and be-all is actually funny in a sad sort of way.

And from slashdot, some guy mentioned that he was chatting to his old friend. The friend was complaining about expensive antivirus software (ha Windows duh), and he suggested Linux and introduced to him the Free and Open Source Software movement (FOSS). That old friend rejected the idea completely, along the lines of "no such thing as free lunch", "if anything is to good to be true, it is" and "scam, illegal, etc".

I do not think we have that problem here, as the people who fit into the category of old stubborns do not actually like or care about the particular stuff they use, and they just want to manage to teach a decent lesson (the literal meaning intended here) with Microsoft PowerPoint (refering it by its proper name). Think Shiehls and Chiak.

Then the ones who actually care about piracy and stuff do have some knowledge about this matter. The rules added about "copyrighted games" are (I suspect, and most likely anyway) due to the number of people caught playing GTA (wtf I hate GTA. No meaning unless you do the allcarsgoboom thing), NFS (I (or at least my brohter) buy them noob shits) and *gulp* DotA (actually not that I play it often now, seeing my previous screenshot (which was the reason that I gulped actually)).

All this however, could be slowly ruined. Microsoft has extended its grisly arms to education, providing us with the FutureSchools Programme, congratulating us with huge banners on our entry to the gates of Updates and Service Packs (if they even come).

Let us all hold ours heads down in prayer in the name of Haruhi.

EDIT: Then again, doing my usual clicksurfing, I came upon the huge joke of Jerry Lee Cooper. One wonders if he was just joking all along.

compy usage

I've noticed that my current usage habits are rather...erm...interesting.

Instead of going away from the compy unwilingly every 5 minutes, I sit around for about 10 to 30 mins and then go do something else (like read those new books. Air-Con nation roxx). It feels like the amount of time spent is the same, but overall satisfaction is greater instead of an empty feeling in the past.

Which means of course any chance of gaming is kept to a minimum. DoTA is merely entertaining, VBA is used for Galaxian, Dig-Dug, Pole Position and Pacman; Totally no long run games at all.

I don't know if this is a turn for the better or worse.

Rand Stuff

Just thought this is better in a separate post.

RSS life rocks.

I currently have so many feeds that the equivalent of going to each website to wait for updates would take a whole day.

Now I know how lame some people are with Wikipedia. Just subscribe to the "Recent Changes" feed.
Found that the people at our place are pretty lame too, through WikiScanner.

And also, Eclipse lagged! Last week their Clannad AS 9 was out pretty fast, but it seems AS 10 needs a bit more time...

Abnormal?

What defines abnormal? (in this context, a person in public)

Just a TL;DR here: I tio Bishan Gay. Happy? Wtf he follow me on 74 and 157. Like he purposely detour from his usual 156 to gay.

Is it the ability to conform to a socially acceptable "norm", or is it simply not being disruptive or disturbing?

What is the socially acceptable "norm"?

It is a question dependent on the people around. In America and many "friendly" countries, helping someone you met on the street is common practice. It just feels normal. In previously communist/oppressive states, no one looks into each others' eyes, much less help another, for fear of the other person being a suppressor. In Singapore, I feel that the norm is to help when no one notices, but when trouble strikes in an highly accessible location, no one stops.

Enough about helping people. Those were just examples. I am rather more interested in behaviour on public transport. More particularly, Buses or Trains.

Let me start with seats. When it is during the rush hours, the only people who actually get to seat are those who have their starting location at the ends (or beginnings, if you prefer) of the particular routes. Once you stand, you don't sit and once you sit, you don't stand (unless you are giving up your seat). I don't know how most of you choose how and when and where to sit, so I shall not fake public opinion. What I do observe is that people usually sit whenever there is a "free seat" (no one else), less than half will hesitate to sit when there are no free seats but there is nobody standing, and more than half will just stand when there are no free seats and there are already people standing.

For me, personally, I go by the number of seats left. If after I sit down the next person who boards has no free seats to choose from, then I will not sit. Unless of course I am beat.

Then next is talking. Or actually to be more generic, "producing sound". I digress yet again, but in Japan it is rude to have your phone ring while on the train. Back here in Singapore, it seems that it is merely an amusement (okok for me at least) to find out what other's ringtones are. Talking on the phone usually blends in with the engine noise well, the only thing you will know is that a phone convo is going on. Then there are exceptions, but of course being in Singapore exceptions are always exotic and fun (okok for me at least).

Then of course there are those "crazy" guys who talk loudly for no reason. Happens one in every 75 trips (not that I counted). That is my focus. Not the reason that I wrote this though.

Do they really belong in the asylum? I don't think so. Some may be irritating, but as long as they don't really pose a public danger, it is a reality check that we still have such people in society that do not conform. Not exactly that I'm a non-conformist, but I do not believe in doing so just to conform or not to. Safety in numbers does not apply.

Just a note, I usually keep a straight face while on the bus alone (as in, without people to talk to). Only when people are in my circle then I let loose.

Details of the Bishan Gay attack:
Waiting for bus after training (opposite HCI).
Noticed him after I walked past the tree.
Hid behind bus info for a while. He adjusted himself to peek through the gap. 気持ち悪いだ.
I just let myself get full blasted by standing in front of the bus stop advert. I was facing the advert, keeping watch by means of reflection (a skill I had mastered).
Too creepy. Went to back of Advert. Kept watch at sidea but got me twice.
74 came. planned to board it.
When another hci guy boarded, I feared the worst. He followed.
I went upstairs, he didn't
I got of at matrichie (whatever is the damn spelling) stop, he follow.
Went to the other stop for 157. He followed soon after.
157 came under a minute. He followed too.
Got off and ran behind the info panels.

Spooky...

NND Medleys and Figmas

Wtf I found the page and wtf got so many... http://kumikyoku.rintaun.net/

Will take hell to dl them all... It seems like the server can only handle a max of 30 requests at a time...

Also went to all the figma pages. Nao i wans them all but it will take hell to save up. Current rates are SGD45 each (2500JPY). If I were to continue with the rest of SHnY (Koizumi, Nagato x 2, Asahina, Asakura and Tsuruya-san), Lucky Star (those 4), Shana and the VOCALOID2s. Thats a total of...12...estimated SGD540 in all. That would take a year even if i save $10 per week... and all is just estimated...

Ok...

RSS fun

I remembered a time I learnt about RSS 3 years ago (references to SHnY purely coincidental). I ran away for a few reasons:

1) I was trying to create feeds
2) "Feeds take up space" (last time my discspace was precious)
3) Not enough internet usage for the hassle

Nao that I have broken down due to too much refreshing pages that never update ("A watched page never updates"), I have decided to adopt an RSS lifestyle. That is one of the reasons I have time to post.

I have RSSed almost everything that I do, and some other things that I have read in the past but have not kept up with.

Now, the only thing that has no RSS and needs it the most? SMB, seriously...

I fail...

I fail...

I succumbed to temptation...

I added Code Geass (both) to my Plan to Watch list.
I also added NGE to my Plan to Watch list.

But I swear it is not for the mecha.

Habits, Trends and whatnot

It appears everything I have done so far has followed a certain pattern.

This is only an example. Actual curves may vary

Now, first the introductory trigger + phase. This is when you learn about it/whatever. You stary trying and may be a little noob, or maybe still can manage. Whatever. Try it once in a while for "practice".

Then comes the secondary trigger. Usually marked by "mastering" or others doing it too. Then the frequency of activity would escalate to a high peak.

This peak would then be there for a certain amount of time. The kill trigger would then bring this down to zero. The time of decline could span from a week to a day.

This period of non-activity would be followed by the restart trigger. Quite the determining factor. Like the life (or actually death) of a star, 3 things could happen: Rebirth, Replay or Dao.

Dao is easy to explain. You dao the trigger since you decide to give up already.

Rebirth also easy to explain. You play it like a newbie. The graph restarts.

Replay is slightly different (thus illustrated in the diagram). Firstly, a period of turbulence. Then a period of stability. Then again, this could result in any of the above states. Therefore, it will be too complicated.

Let me just give a few examples. DoTA (for me), N and LF2 followed this. LF2 was started, somehow, by me. I dunno why. I had one too many connections. I think it was some guy on the N forums who had Julian as his avatar, and another with Firzen as his avatar. Whatever, they played and played, then Mdm Math came in to stop. Then a few pockets of activity, then it eventually declined to nil. DoTA I still play sometimes, but you can't really call that playing. N i still touch occasionally.

Things that have already stabilised are my Ubuntu, Juggling, laming and Jappiness.

Yays another post

AFA'08

Whoops, I'm terribly late. I accidentally procastinated...

I suppose I shall tell a different story then. Pixs not resized... I feel sorry for those with a slow connection.

Woke up at 6 am
Left house at 8 am
Reached City Hall at 8.30 am
Waited for FX till 8.45 am
Walked to Suntec via Citylink (passed Bowie) and reached the convention centre at 9 am

Queue was liek this. I was liek Haha wwww.

Then we got the Tickets at about 9.59 am and went to niao the rest first (funny youall dint bother to mention that in your posts). Edward told me to get stuff from KKnM, and I queued. Comiket style. Takashimaya had a long queue, but KKnM's was soon growing to be twice of that.

While team tagging with Fangxu for queueing for 40 mins, I got a Kyon Figma ($30), chatted with the Magma Heritage store's owner (my mum actually bought dolls from them) and went to see the SnS exhibit. Pics:

Then After the queueing, I got FX to grab some Rei Ayanami stuff for my senior who, after watching just that Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0 movie I also watched, got hooked to Rei instantly. A poster which costs $11 (which I bet someone will cut out only Rei and discard the rest) and a Keyring that costs $14.

At Latendo, I grabbed Miku and Rin for myself ($58 for a set). Then I found a 10 nendroid set that cost $100. I only brought $50 that I blew, so I went to the nearest POSB (quite a distance) and drew my limit for the day ($200). I got it, and also a $10 Rei Figurine.

That Rin Pic edward asked me to take:

Went around to where the Figurines were all displayed. Shana Nendroid which cost $55 at one of the Stalls:

Nice Mikuru...

We were going out for lunch, but caught the holy sight of the crowning of the Gundam:

I really took so much time because of the pics you see...
Seriously, enter this industry when you grow up. Reccessioned and I see ppl still buy more than me. More pics will be available soon as I edit and upload to photobucket. I also took quite a bit of time assembling the Petit Nendroids...

Linux Cont'd

Ok, so I have been using Ubuntu for about 2 weeks already. An updated review is apparent.

Things that have remained approximately status quo:
Mozilla Firefox
GIMP
Pidgin (almost the same as ymsgr)
Stepmania (just that it took a little more configuration)
µTorrent (Running fine on wine (rhyme not intended))
IME (input method editor)
Golly (Game of Life Simulator)
Veoh Dl (with VeohProxy)
VBA
Arduino (perhaps excluding the fact that I still can't create a panel shortcut)
Hardware (external and internal)

Things that did not turn out so well:
WoW (anyway I dun play DoTA so much anymore)
Portal (anyway I almost completed it anyway)
Touhou Games (I was able to have a match running on wine, but I couldn't see the HP, Spirit or number of cards I have)
Keyboard Shortcuts (at least getting used to the available ones and to config them)
Hearts, Spider, Pinball, Inkball (I can get the Linux vers but I am just too lazy)

Things that have turned better:
EyeCandy (including xeyes, "Exposé" (Window List), "Spaces" (Workspaces) and rollup of screen)
Mouse Locking

That is already my TL;DR, so I shall actually slack off and not finish this post.

Clannad

Ok i is posts here too with stuffs i has found in 5 minits. Reimu wants de rite?

Dango Daikazoku (Touhou Version)

Some comment there is so nice.

rainingcloud689 (7 months ago)
So the saying is true.
'If it exists there will be a touhou version of it'

Also, Fate Testarossa Harlaown wins the International Saimoe League beating Nagato Yuki 1220 to 956.

Finally, I is using Linux.

This is my post, so kthxbai

Linux...

I have been called off slacking from posting by Reimu (how honourable). I have been busy with Robocup Junior, and with 3 weeks (close to that) taken up by OBS, Class Chalet and YFC Control Line racing, I doubt I can pull off a win for this week... And "look at me, still talking when there's science to do..."

I got a laptop that cost SGD699 the week of our class chalet, and after modding XP to look like Mac I guessed that I would have a go at Linux. Therefore I reserved 20 out of my 40GB harddisk for Linux. I have been officially using Linux for about a week now, and I shall give a largely non-technical (at least for me) review of Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex).

I first had to download a LiveCD to install it. I actually torrented the ISO and it took about 5 hours. After that I had some issues with a stupid option on XP which "Gets the file ready for Archiving" which totally screws the MD5 hash.

Then after installing I had to install stuff. I did not even need to care about drivers for hardware. My Volume buttons, Bluetooth module, Wireless Adapter and special function buttons were already configured. Firefox, GIMP and Pidgin were already installed, I added on VLC and wine. I also got all the extensions for Firefox (my only qualm is that IETab is not available for Linux, which actually doesn't really matter as I do not really think I need it. Pidgin was configured quickly, and so was all the other apps.

The next best thing were the games, but I soon lost to the comp too many times and got bored. There was Solitare, Blackjack, Chess, Reversi (Igano), 4 in a row, 5 or more, Tetris (Gnometris), Freecell, Minesweeper, Nibbles (a multiplayer snake-like game), Robots (evade and teleport from robots), Sudoku and some games I did not bother to try.

Eyecandy was surprisingly good, considering my 1ow ram of 512MB and 1.4GHz. There is actually a nice Spaces like default program (Workspaces) which gives a nice switcher (you can't really see the effect as there are only 2 workspaces. I didn't resize so you can see everything.)

There is also an Exposé like feature.

And this shall conclude this long post. Nothing much.

EDIT: Oh SHI... Forgot to talk about running WoW on Linux...

Laugh at me. I was playing Techies, I had boots (which appeared as Sacred Relic's sprite), and the Mines got shown as Statis.

OBS: The second Post

(In an effort to make the title sound like a sequel, I did something stupid...)

OBS was quite like I had expected (sans activities) where they all pwn Sarimbun like paper HP. Our watch name was Magellan (after the sea explorer Ferdinand Magellan). We had fun calling it "mage-llan". I also note that it was my first time on P. Ubin.

Land EX (and maybe night trek) was the only thing I thought really hard to do, and only because of the heavy bag (which I guess will be useful training for NS). My foam mat and shoe bag was the most irritating.

We slacked at Camp 1 getting niaoed by the Aphelion and 2D people who had that as base camp. Nvm de. It was a good refresher course on "How to use a Staircase", "How to use a Toilet Bowl" and "How to bathe properly".

Sea EX I would remember for a long time. It was not easy feeling good, tired and suddenly stupid (for being in the sea in those circumstances) all at the same time. As with all my misuses of "cute", I declare the sea EX to be "hyper-cute". With all due pessimism however, it was rather shitty when we had to touch shore during the storm. It was cool though, when we saw the storm chase us, and the other side all calm sky and lush greenery. Then we got pwned by Shiney, Soon Yee and Wenqi's Tri-yak almost all the way till the finish where they got stuch at one of the pontoons at Camp 1. That I would call an "Alonso win" (after the SGF1GP).

Night Trek was lol (for the lack of a better word). We didn't know we trekked that far. Setting up the tent was the best, as we did it first and just before the drizzle started. I had a good night relative to the circumstances and others' sleep (excluding the fact that I could not stretch my legs).

Rock climbing would have been more fun if I had not broken my nail the previous day. Else I could have climbed to the top more easily. Belaying Kenneth was the best, as I was lifted even though I had TWO anchormen attached to me.

The feast on Thursday was the best. Touching mainland was the best. Almost kissing the HCI floor was the best.

I had a week's worth of news to digest, a week's worth of Foxtrot's new arc and a week's worth of other's experiences to share.

On another note, I found this while blog-hopping. Lol...

OBS

Going there tomorrow. Just finished with packing.

A not so strangely, I met Kenny, Ben Cheong, Bryan, Joel and Tiet Ho at Golden Mile Complex (Beach road there) shopping for camp supplies.

Will be there for a fun week.

Still listening to ニコニコ動画物語.wav while searching for the song by refering to here. How noob of me.

AFA'08

The Pre-registration is now open here.

I will be going in the wake of my attendance of STCC'08 (now STGCC (incl. Games now)), CosFest VII: Super Henshin.

If anyone wants to go, I really reccomend pre-registration. I don't know how big this is (actually the title is "Anime Festival Asia"...), so you wil never know. Afa-kun updated his Facebook 15 hours ago and I only pre-reged now. Lag liao.

And the iNite (shouldn't they call iSpark Nite that?) was fun, if you took away the mediaTech disapointment. And WR your 18 straight hours of work was there for only 5 second tops so can you put it up kthxbai.

Robocup Junior

Diao. Exams over, and I suddenly remember this.

Well. I shall give a brief summary about RCJ. The full specs are here (PDF).

[Image hotlinked mercilessly from the forums]

So, 2 robots on each side with a ball emitting Infrared light(IR).

I am thinking of using Microcontrollers (MCs) this year instead of a puny RCX like last year. sian. I managed to work with the Arduino, and would soon order some stuff online (Details secret to protect ideas from these people (PDF), excluding ourselves.)

Just to update IRL, finished ZnT3 (some should have noticed from the increment in Animes completed by 1). Thanks ODEX and Arts Central. I am trying to find a steady vid uploader on Veoh to DL them.

K. Enough of me.

eh...

5 things I wanted to do if I had Geass?

Including the rule which states that it only works on a particular person once, I do not think you can Geass yourself...

1) Get myself a ASUS EEE PC
2) Get a bike (to ride to school with duh), or permission to inline-skate to school.
3) No tests duh. Exams are fine.
4) ODEX, M$ and other closed platform developers, to personally Kowtow to me.
5) erh, I actually have a slot left? Then I shall just Geass the people who dun pick up litter, internet trolls (I wonder how), those who are currently bullying Liow or Joel, and those with domestic workers (aka maids).

Coming in a week...

Annoyances

[Flashy Text] Post Updated [Flashy Text] // I'm sure those tags work...

There are a few things WinXP users always piss me off with, being still stuck as one myself, and it is usually not because XP was made by Microsoft.

// this is still largley uncomplete. The reason it is is because I want to see something new appear and push NJRC down.

These few things I mention are simple to solve. If you can run XP, you can tweak your com. Of course, Vista people are encouraged to follow this too; but the specific menu/directory names may be different.

1) Thumbnail caching (continous present tense of "to cache")
When you use the Thumbnail view on folders with more than a certain number of pictures, XP stores a "Thumbs.db" file in that folder (now you know what that is for) so that the next time you use Thumbnail view, they would load faster.

However, unless you are trying to view some folder with more than a thousand pics like my ecchi pic collection, it does not really speed up the thumbnailing, and just takes up some kB in your drive. Some kB only, you say. An average Thumbs.db file is about 50+kB for a folder with at most 100 pics. Multiply that by a lot of folders, and you see the picture.

2) Default Folder view not "Details"
What is the use of having so much space used to display a file using tiles? Even List is better than tiles. Details would be the best, but the right details must be chosen. Usually you just need the size, type (for sorting) and Date Modified. Sadly Folders don't show the size of their contents.

3) Hiding known file extensions
This is not just an annoyance. It could be a security threat. Imagine if someone wrote a malicious program, changed the icon to an innocent text document, and just left it on the desktop. You open it, thinking it is a mysterious text file and boom. Your com crashes.

Also, when trying to change the file extension, it is irritating not to see the original exension. When I tried creating a batch file on someone's com to ffmpeg, I had trouble changing the exension from a .txt to a .bat

4) Cluttered Desktops
A desktop with more than 10 icons is flooded. You would only need My Computer, My Network Places, Recycle Bin, at most 2 to 4 CD/Hard Drives.

5) Stuffing everything into the system drive (most commonly C:\)
Now that I've got an excellent example look at what happened to poor Edward. Got his laptop screwed (or more accuratley, his HDD). It would have been simple enough if the drive was partitioned, then at least the data disc can still be accessed via a Portable HDD case. Sadly, from what I can recall he didn't, and saddedly he had to copy some stuff from me which i copied from him. Good Riddance.

6) Lack of creativity (for a lack of a better word to use)
Seriously, less than 41% (and yes, 78.4% of all statistics are made up on the spot (this too if you didn't know)) of XP users know what a web browser, word processor, spreadsheet program or a vector/raster image editor. Basically what you know are Internet ExploderExplorer, Microsoft (some of you affectionatley drop the M$) Word, M$ Excel and Adobe Photoshop/M$ Paint.

So, after reading, here is a useful guide

How not to annoy me in just about 15 minutes.
Just go to Start Menu > Search > For files or Folders (or just go to My Computer and hit F3). The search sidebar should be there.

Click "All files and Folders", and key in "Thumbs.db" (without inverted commas) into the "All or part of the file name".
Then goto "More advanced options". Check "Search system folders", "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search subfolders".

Run the search, and you would soon get many (unless someone cleared them for you/you don't use thumbnail view).

After the search, just to show yourself how much space you saved, select all the files (Ctrl+A) and check Properties. Then chuckle to yourself for saving that amount of space.
Hit delete. Some files may produce an error, this is likely to be because they were trapped in a zip folder. Ignore them and carry on.

Now what. You deleted the Thumbs.db, but XP would still make them when you use the view. Now you need to tell it to stop.
Go to Tools > Folder Options > View Tab, and check "Do not cache thumbnails". While you are there, you might as well uncheck "Hide extentions for known file types".

Also, if the folder view is already details, just hit "Apply to Folders" at the top. If not, change yor folder view and do it.
//

It will be too late to partition your drives now, so I would not really bother, and just start replacing those words in your vocabulary.

Still incomplete, but just comment away.

Right...

After watching ZnT3 for a bit, I shall add on to the few comments that I have made pre-Ep7.

Amazingly, the wikipedia article on the episodes have not been updated for Ep8 and 9 (as of 070908 19:21). Usually they have been rather nicely updated just after I watched them on Art Central.

Of which brings me to the next point. Did Art Central ever show ZnT1 and 2?

from HalberdierRetsel of MyAnimeList.net (07-24-08, 7:48 AM)

Mediacorp certainly improved a ton by buying ZnT3, now shown freely on Art Central, but that is OBVIOUSLY only catering to the already active webmembers, since ZnT1 and 2 was never shown here. Which brings us back to a point: Why do they want to compete with the internet? At least get a brand new anime that no one has watched before! Then maybe it's possible. They're obviously losing out to air a now airing, already in its 3rd part, without ever showing hte locals parts 1 and 2. Totally ingenious business strategy there.

Which reminded me of the time I spent chionging ZnT1 and 2 from Veoh so that I could watch "Legally". Nice one.

Plot progress has been made since those fillers. Colbert-sensei ain't dead they freaking asstards who made me cry for a bloody revival. Apparently Tabitha casted some "fake death" thing (as translated by our dear friend Odex) and Jean Kirche went to dig him out once she heard about it. The giant bird thingy was developed by Colbert, funded by Kirche and apparently she has a thing for Colbert. Nvm. Then Louise does a bit of chasing about Henrietta and Saito's behaviour during the Ball but ends up with info about Tabitha instead. Tabitha returns home to find her mother missing and gets captured by an elf. [ep8 end] Tabitha's sister appear while they search for evidence of that night. The Ondine Knights want to go rescue Tabitha, but Saito, Guiche, that fat guy and Louise end up being arrested by queen for defying orders as it could cause trouble with Gallia. They escape with help from the rest.

That took some time. I typed out most of it from memory and by refering to this, which I found while checking if anyone had actually put something there.

Moving along

NJRC ended. Yay. Not much difference from last year.

This is a video of another team, I uploaded the video before the results were out, but it managed to get 1st for the Best Video (secondary school category).

Starring Perry, Nat, Malcolm, Andre and Ryan (no order).
(I appear at 0:26 to 0:28, in my jacket.)

The JC side (in the Tertiary category) got (From memory. Not really sure first, second or third) Most Bizarre Robot, Best Presentation, Best Research, Best Robot Performance and the Overall Champs.

We, The High School section got a Judges' Award for Perseverance (add a Soul booster and we can get Bloodstone), Best Research, Best Video (1st), Best Presentation (2nd) and SumoBot Champs. Martin didn't get Entrepreneur, Nat didn't get Programming and I didn't get Mechanical or Sumo. But it was all good fun

Cube4sg

Since I can't do something like that now, let us support Martin (from our dear neighbours 2L) and help him advertise his venture. Of course, that is low key and low risk, involving at most a loss of a hundred. But it is a good start. I have always had a lack of sensible (at least thats what they said) ideas. I never really listened.

And in Haruhi's name Google Chrome news is really big. I thought only the browser people will talk, but apparently Google is already challenging Microsoft with a new browser that can handle web applications better, of which web applications would be the ones Google is developing to replace MS Office. Lol

Google Chrome

The newest kid on the block is out. Google Chrome, the new Open Source Web Browser Project. View more here.

Apparently I would consider this useful, so the blog name already seems shaky. Nevermind. It is still in Beta, but after using it for a while it doesn't seem bad. Even for someone who is still reluctant to use FF3 (except for my portable FF).

I see a few IE related dependencies (Proxy settings etc.), but many features overflow so much you don't notice. The tab bar is right on top, no window bar in the way. There is "incognito mode" where nothing is tracked on your com (which of course means that anything on the server side is ignored). All new tabs are new processes (of which I have detected as I have a system sound (a short chirp) for a program opening. Imagine what it sounds like when my com boots up). It fires up almost immediately, though I haven't played with it enough to feel the true increase in speed.

It is cool. I just need to wait for the portable version and it will replace my FF3 Portable. It probably won't ever replace FF on my desktops, until I see extensions come out.

Objective-ness

Whatever is the true form of the word. As long as you get the meaning of which I had intended to get across (the noun form of "to be objective").

Nevermind. I shall start with an example. As GC noted, there is something useful to him on this blog. But to a person dying of hunger, can this blog be of any use to him (of course, neither would any other blog). So I should name this blog "Devoid of anything useful, except to a certain few". Of which stalkers, Authority, Law and many others would form the certain few.

Objective-ness is highly important now, when there is too much of too little information. When one speaks about hating something, please state what exactly is the thing that you hate. For example, if you hate Mario (not the Nintendo one) please state if it is the DPS (not Damage per second but similar), his recent changing of policies which we think he thinks will make him less unpopular, or just his face.

Anyway, sometimes I may not be objective enough. In order not to be hypocritical I will just say that if your brain is still moving faster than your mouth I advise you too be more objective.

Oh, and more 5 cm per Second Screenies here

Well...

It would seem that I have left here, after getting my own foothold, but anything too Ani related will still appear here. The reason I did not put the 5 cm post here is because that was my (very short) review, of which WeiRong did his here already.

And Ed, please crop and resize your pics! How many times must I repeat myself...

5 centimetres per second

I actually bothered to watch it but I don't think I regret it.
I did my normal researching on Wiki, and apparently the director (Makoto Shinkai) is the same one who did Ef: A Fairy Tale of the Two. dots. But the art was damn nice and I sat through the not too extraordinary plot. Just for the amazing art. VLC lagged a bit though.

Screenies:

Lol he programs on a Mac. From what I see it is PHP with database (MySQL) manipulation. What detail.

Do I see "Windows Vasta"? Dots.

Finally, if anyone is looking for Japanese fonts, here would be a good place. I suggest the Moon font (bottom of 1st page). It is rather nice, even for the alphabet.

And no, I did not play Little Busters yet; so, sorry to disappoint anyone. I think I don't really like visual novels. Maybe to improve my Moonspeak, but not now.

Change

For almost 1600 years in the Common Era (or Anno Domini), mankind had not much change. Between each generation were just subtle changes, either a paradigm of some sort. Then came the Renaissance, of which exploration of new ideas away from the Church started the first few scientific discoveries.

Science improved as time went on, and at the start of the 19th Century, Radio was invented. Long distance communication which was fast and readily available was here. Ideas that were kept to oneself were spread easily. Of course, it took a while before idea spreading rather than fact spreading was done long distance, but I would attribute the start of long distance communication as the Current Era.

Then of course, there was the internet which more people attribute to the spread of ideas. I have no qualms about that, but the internet would not have been formed so quickly without primitive long distance communications.

NJRC

NJRC is next week and I'm still slacking by writing this. Uguu~

And I just found out that I can't go back to base to align.

That would be the mission map. We need to go from base, pass those 2 cylindrical things, knock the 3 "pillars" down, and pass all 6 zones in order. What every single team is complaining about are the waters, which are simply Lego bricks glued onto the board (unruffled has 1 layer of bricks, turbulent has 2). And the layout is like that:

Isn't that fun? Everyone dieded, so all had to use big wheels and cross over them.

The presentation robot was pinched (of which by the way pinch is a more proper word than "kope") from last year's Legged Sumo bot. Which is fun since it moved at such a dramatic pace that we could have gone to the toilet and back. I modified the design a little, and i got something.

kk enough of this. I sian liao.

Hypocritism

There are too many things waiting to be said, but this seems to be something important.

It would too be past, but isn't that what life is about?

Freedom of thought and expression is hypocritical. At least for the people who fight for freedom. Since you want people to be free to think about anything, shouldn't they be allowed to think that freedom is wrong and be allowed to tell others so?

Flexibility is hypocritical. If you have to be flexible, adapting to whatever that comes by, shouldn't being inflexible be included in the "properties" that are covered by flexibility? You need to be flexible, and flexible enough to know when to and not to be flexible. Fun?

It would seem that this is basically 2 specific examples of the perils of self-reference. But as these are concepts, ideas, it would be hard to make it not such.

Not imposing my opinion on you would be hypocritical too, as by spreading the idea you would indirectly be imposing the opinion that an opinion should be imposed.

Arrgh. If anyone asks how I spend time away from the computer, this would take up about one-third of the time. Thinking about all these logic stuff is really fun, interesting and time-killing.

Intro

I guess it is as with creating anything, naming it may sound simple but not really so.

Most introduce themselves with their name first. I think I want to do so for this blog.

Devoid
de-void (adj.)
Completely lacking; destitute or empty

It is not the opposite of void (unlike incline and decline). So it would mean that this is supposed to be useless. It would be.

I really did not want to start a blog, already co-authoring one. But for some reason I feel like being in control of the ship instead of just being like a navigator.

So here it is. there is nothing useful here

Chinese

Well, it seems like a nightmare learning chinese now for some people, but i have a pretty good explanation why.

We are too damn old. Yup. Old. 12 is middle aged already.

For non-Singaporeans (of which i suspect there are none reading this), I am sorry but you just have to be slightly envious.

First, let me come up with a few talking points. Refer to here, here and here.

That is one nice guy. His rants are awesome and i suggest you look beyond these 3 posts.

Now, what I want to highlight. See how much difficulty they have with syntax and grammar? Indeed I would agree that unlike English, we didn't have much grammar based testing.
For people who have been listening to it for long, it would make perfect sense. It would be the same for any language. Get immersed in it from young, you will be zai.

Even for such a chinese noob like me, Joel or Edward, I think we still face less problems actually facing syntax oddities or errors. They can't take an oddity without struggling first. We did, but it was during the first learning years.

That is why NAND, diodes, TX stick movement, the 60+ digits of pi and the slip-knot for yoyo never really left me although i did not touch it again until recently. Cubing was rather recent. I would really like to see my speeds after many weeks of not practising. And i can't seem to take any more PLLs in. Point? Start learning everything you had wanted to learn from young. Fat lot of good, especially for those old enough to even read what is here. Anything learnt after secondary school isn't really going to be as permanent as bike riding.

nvm. no one understands anyway.

[EDIT] kk. One full explanation. from http://www.ctcfl.ox.ac.uk/Chinese/grammarlist.htm

Use of the 正 在 V 着 O 呢 zhènzài V zhe O ne sentence pattern

This sentence pattern indicates that an action is under way. Note that some of the elements of this pattern can be omitted: all the following sentences mean he is watching TV. [But with slightly different highlight or connotations!]
1. 他正在看着电视呢 tā zhèngzài kànzhe diànshì ne full version
He is now looking at the TV leh (sorry couldn't find a better replacement)
2. 他正看着电视呢 tā zhèng kànzhe diànshì ne without 在 zài
He's now looking at the TV leh (the 在 is techincally part of 正在)
3. 他在看着电视呢 tā zài kànzhe diànshì ne without 正 zhèng
He is looking at the TV leh
4. 他正在看电视呢 tā zhèngzài kàn diànshì ne without 着 zhe
He is now watching TV leh (notice 看 and 看着 are rather different)
5. 他正在看着电视 tā zhèngzài kànzhe diànshì without 呢 ne
He is now watching TV
6. 他在看电视呢 tā zài kàn diànshì ne without 正 zhèng and 着 zhe
He is watching TV leh
7. 他看电视呢 tā kàn diànshì ne without 正 zhèng , 在 zài and 着 zhe
He watch TV leh (yes, this sentence is not really used around here.)

NDP post lol

Posting while watching the NDP. How patriotic...

ZnT Season 3 is a dissapointment for now. Eps 4 and 5 have been mostly fanservice, and if I count the first scene of the first ep, I dunno how much that is already. I am not saying that there wasn't any fanservice in the previous 2 seasons; All I am saying is that both of the eps provided no plot at all. Maybe Tiffa joining the school contributed slightly, maybe something else that I have missed, but there is really nothing new.

Will seriously consider the iNite proposal. Dragging LiKi and Glendon in would be the biggest challenge, but practicing it would be the crux after that. Who would take the postiton of Haruhi, Yuki and Mikuru? The Kyon and Itsuki could be taken by those 2 since I would want them to come in later.

Different things for those 3 are as follows:
Haruhi - Pushing Yuki and the 360 spin.
Yuki - Not smiling, getting pushed by Haruhi.
Mikuru - The "jikan no hate made Boon!..." part.

Also note the part just before the chorus on how they go back to their original positions. That is why we cannot be "everyone" and stay in that one spot for the dance. We need to move accordingly to the roles. That is why much practice will be needed.

See how much techinical study is put in? How much there is to co-ordinate the thing? And what good excercise that will be. Never say that dancing sucks.

for those who are really lazy, these are the videos to mug:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7nowJbezUQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjoAyA3arO0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwTSOGRTNj0

Good Luck.

SHnY

SHnY went pretty well. Even the parts that would warrant a "screen cover" pre-NHK is simply laughed off now. I am not intending to spoil it, but after Itsuki said his stuff it was prettey hard not to explain certain things. Basically they now have the knowledge that Haruhi is God. I shall re-iterate the 3-years point.

And lol at ZnT II ep4 today. I was slightly surprised that Zhou.MY did not bother to look up.

Sola would also be a good choice. 12 (or was it 13?) eps isn't too long. Most likely it would be after Lucky Star, as Konata needs to be explained. Minami-ke would also be a good choice.

Ichigo 100% and Strawberry Panic would prolly never make it, but if it ever gets to that stage I do not know to rejoice or worry. Bible Black would be the one that takes the cake, if I can even get my hands on it in the first place. Then they would understand true hentai.

How to DL youtube videos

I decided to release a tut for newbs who use video dl services like keepvid. What happens when they are down? You don't even need them at all.

First you go to the video page.

If there is random stuff behind the ?v=[whatever], delete them up to and including the first "&". for this it is the red part. Then, change the "?v=" (blue) to "/v/". click go or hit enter.

The URL will radically change. Change the blue part to get_video. Removing the red part is optional, only when you are free. hit enter or go

Just save. It would have no extention and you cannot change the name yet. After it is done, add a ".flv" to whatever name you gave it. This format can be watched with RealPlayer, VLC media player, and other random freeware players.

To convert to avi or mpeg, use ffmpeg. The windows libraries are at http://ffdshow.faireal.net/mirror/ffmpeg/

more help can be found online, thus I know i wasted 10 minutes doing this.

Puru Puru Pururin~

Puru Puru Pururin~ I think I got addicted to that song. Ask them.

The stuff on the noticeboard is printed, do not fret.

I also intro the book Little Brother. A really good read.

I wonder why the school actually bothers about hair length. The school refers to both students and non-students. I do not think that hair of any particular length should be worth worrying about. Also, the bigger joke is that Dr. Hon asked a few sec4s to summarize the message. I expect their compre summaries are not bad.

I think what the student poopulation wants to avoid is a) Full Botak. b) Going to the barber too often (excluding those who family members cut their hair (incl. me)) c) Instances where the hair is a *bit* (the non-sarcastic version) too long, and the student gets caught.

Now, which do you think is the cause of the proposed change?

Of course, the school also wants to avoid certain things. a) Haruhis (pre Kyon's remark). Having short hair really inhibits creativity. b) Konatas. But who would like to sit on their hair if not for cosplay? c) People who think emo (aka. Eye wiper), mohawk (aka Broom), long back (aka Lion), PCK style (aka Afro) and other miscelaneous hairstyles I can't even imagine.

I do not think that i should have bothered writing this, but if the bickering over small matters continues then in the name of Haruhi please wipe them off. I belive in freedom, but this is not in my Bill of Rights. Hair length, sock length, Uniforms, I do not care. Even if they ask us to wear Seifukus, is good for cosplay. Even if they ask for Soccer length socks, they keep the horrible cold out. Even if they ask for a full botak, my mum can cut it.

Chibi is a much more appropriate nick than chib*i, which I feel has no relation. Chibi is very fitting for his erm... vertical development, and is easily a mondegreen of his name. I shall end insults here. He is simply the one who got arrowed to do dicipline because of his eagle eyes. Do you think that shiehls would be the one? Chewty is also not bad, but he can't manage socks and buttons at the same time. I suggest another teacher help him.

Finally, I decided to do a bit of random googling. I searched randName, and indeed, a mountain of links went to programming related sites. one led to my blogger profile.

ttfn

Yay

Finished screening NHK. Good.

The next would probably be SHnY. I can also rewatch to mug the Jap vocab.
Either that or Lucky Star, Rozen Maiden or SnS. the problem with the latter 2 is both have 2 seasons, and the last has 24 for each season. Would take a few weeks to finish.

I have done some more to intergrate the anime life into school. Now the class noticeboard has the SOS Dan Logo and a white L (in Old English Font). Yay. Planning to put the Haruhiism logo, the "Torch" and Cotycus (the thing Alastor is in) from SnS and maybe a "Raki Suta" logo. Or just rip the whole thng apart.

More could be performing Hare Hare Yukai and teh phat lewt Lucky Star OP (dance duh) during iNite. Will seriously consider as my class is unlikely to do anything.
Could drag Glendon, Shiney, Shawn and LiKi (yep THE LiKi).

Could do that crossover that that group did during Cosfest '06 (I think called SOS Dan). They did the HHY Chorus moves to the chorus of Motteke! Sailor Fuku. Pwnt.

kk.

ZnT

I finished seasons one and two. Over a span of 2 weeks. Actually eps7-11 of season 2 were back to back. Yay.

I actually cried in ep9, when he read the letter out. Something about this show is away from the romantic comedy elements that I truly can only wonder what is it. Partly also because there was no one around so I just decided to release some feelings. lol

ZnT 3, here I come.

Oh, if anyone thinks I know nuts about what the other two are talking about, you are rather right.

And I decided to put this in randomly:

Find the references.

Welcome to the...?

Ah, what a life.

Chionging ZnT is slightly unsafe. That is why I have taken to "screening" WttN (Welcome to the N.H.K) in class rather than ZnT. And even WttN is very "dangerous". I have developed the ability to detect when something would come up and shield the screen in time, while trying by best to explain...(and perhaps daoing those who shout something obvious).

Nvm. WttN is rather interesting of an anime. Just check the wiki article. It gets rather dark at the end, so those with weak personalities watch out. The themes disscused are not really that pertinent over here, but it is rather interesting to watch. Even our star student is interested. I must say that I have had a good start in getting the class to stop saying "H3NTaI!11eleven!one" or "ooki mune!" when they see anime.

And if anyone says ZnT is stupid, let me just say it thought us that bringing an electric source everywhere is very important. Saito was apparently holding on to his laptop when he got sucked in, but even if he did not drop it, it would only have lasted about 4 hours. Also, when he saw Moonspeak on that tomb, I was rather touched and I thought he was going to cry. lol. Who says anime dampens your feelings?

Finally, do not watch Agent AIKa, Strawberry Panic, Ichigo 100%, Kyou no Go no Ni and Steel Angel Kurumi. Obviously you would, but I had to put the warning.

Jaa.

Mouthwriting

This has been lying in my thumbdrive for a while. I thought I would shake the dust off.

Yes. You definitley heard it before if you had spent ample time in Singapore as a student. Your teacher asks the class to write stuff down, then the noise starts to build up. Soon...

"Why are you all so noisy? You are not writing with your mouth!"

Then, the cycle repeats till everyone has done writing. However, during the looping, I usually ponder over something. "What has 'not writing with your mouth' got to do with 'not talking'?", I ask myself. Then, sometime in 2006, I was enlightened. I found "it", the answer to my own question.

"What would really stop us from talking? Something else to occupy our mouths with. Something readily available..."

"Like our pens! What our teachers should really say is 'You all better stop talking before I ask you to write with your mouth!' (Quoted from a friend, after mentioning to him this matter)."

So there is our answer. Teachers, if you are reading this, please preach this to your colleagues. Students, at the risk of your counduct grade or any other impression, gently remind your teachers of this.

Of course, do we really want to care?

in response...

I also heard a few HCI boys (Sec 4) chatting about Gundam 00 on the bus. They definitley are not the narutardic type, and apparently had quite an intelligent discussion.

To classify me? Well...Pointers...

- I will never watch titles that are of the "neverending" type.
Examples include: Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Pokemon (It would actually be good if it stopped)

- I will watch titles with >50 eps (per season) only if I had finished every single title that I want to watch. Which probably means never.
Examples include: CardCaptor, Digimon.

- Titles that i have Watched includes:
RM (all), SnS (all), LS, SHnY, Sola, Minami-ke (still sourcing 2nd), VK, Welcome to the N.H.K, Agent Aika, SP, Ichigo 100%.

- I used to BT, apparently in Sep07 (amazingly after Od cooled down lol). After Jan 08 I started to mass spam from Veoh.

- I don't really like Doujin if i can tell is Doujin.
- My online life is at least 15% worth of it
- Has at least 2GBs of OSTs, Albums.
- At least 90% of my Stepmania Songs come from Anime
- At least 85% of my songs in my MP3(1GB) are from anime.
- Gets Merch. Only thing missing is space to put figurines I don't have.
- Writes a php script just to download manga.

- Anime picture count includes This
And many pictures leeched from random anime sites.

- Practices Hare Hare Yukai, LS OP and other forms of Excercise
- Self-Learnt Jap. Would be equal to about a year of 3rd-Lang.

- KILLER! Manages to lead a non-anime life.

Apparently, the last point is something i must elaborate on. I live a life of generlisation. I specialise in generalisation. I apparently can do too many things, only ending up being Jack of all trades master of none. Anime is one of the things that I have done above 80% proficiency, which includes Math Theory, Programming, Balancing sticks and Wasting time.

Things that I have done above 50% are Cubing, Yo-yo-ing, Stepmania-ing, Inline Skating, RC flying, Origami, Memorizing keyboard shortcuts, and touch typing.

Me

I think i have not introuduced myself properly yet. Lol at the Cosfest hurriedness

I am the Shun Git that my classmates write about. I never bothered to know what they wrote about me so i hope you have the correct idea about me. But then i wouldn't bother.

I am leeching off Edward's blog because I had one last time, but aparently I found myself not the blogging type. I feel better randomly coming out and ranting then hiding again.

Which brings me to my display name. Well, i have been through quite (not exactly) a history of names online. The "random" series started this year. I think there are many people out there having a similar name online. A stunning revelation is that i have not really played much stuff, and that my interests change too quickly. A fixed username will not do. So a function to generate a random name will do.

- name: mrprony, prony (2005-mid 2007)
- Places used: G-Masters Forum, Instrucatbles.
- the history of that is not about Pr0n as you might think. It came from Harry Potter. The Maruders, I and 3 buddies decided to use the names. So one became Padtail, another Wormfoot, and Prongs + Moony = Prony apparently.
The "mr" came from Mr Brown. my class was rather crazy abt it.

apparently i did not really get many new accounts from mid 2007-2008. so then came the random series. somerandomguy was the only one yet.

I think that is enough of me for now.

More Spam from Cosfest VII

I finally managed to get the video up

It is the Para Para Dance from Day 2, by MONOCHROME. I managed to keep my hands in roughly in that position for the whole 8 mins. My hands dieded at 4 mins and 6 mins. Truly newfound respect.

And I dun hav a DSLR, it was a crappy Sony T30 with Vibration Reduction (my foot).

You see those guys to the right of the paper bag head? They were dancing with their DSLRs swing all over.

And since i added pictures...
